Republican primary voters in Idaho’s Legislative District 14, which includes the cities of Eagle and Emmett, will have a combined nine candidates to choose from for one Senate seat and two House seats.

The Idaho Statesman sent surveys to each of the candidates, and their responses are copied below, unedited.

Sens. Steven Thayn, R-Emmett, a five-term senator, and C. Scott Grow, R-Eagle, a three-term senator, are both running for reelection after redistricting placed them in the same legislative district. They’re being challenged by Katie Donahue, a homemaker from Emmett.

The Republican primary winner will face Constitution Party candidate Kirsten Faith Richardson and Libertarian Robert Imhoff in the November general election.

Rep. Gayann DeMordaunt, R-Eagle, a three-term representative, is also running to get reelected to position B. She’s facing one Republican challenger, Josh Tanner. The GOP nominee will face Democrat Shelley Brock in November.

One House seat is left open for new leadership. Republicans Ted Hill, Caleb Hoobery, Tracey L. Koellisch and Mike Olsen are running for state representative position A. The primary winner will run against Democrat Crystal Ivie in November.

All three positions have two-year terms. The closed GOP primary is May 17.
