Idaho Republican voters in Legislative District 15, which encompasses part of West Boise, this month will decide among three Senate candidates — including two current lawmakers — to advance to the November general election.
Boise Sen. Fred Martin, who seeks a sixth term, in the May 17 primary will face off against Rep. Codi Galloway, a freshman legislator, and Dorothy Greenzang, of Boise. The Republican nominee will move on to the November general election to face Democrat Rick Just and Constitution Party candidate Sarah Clendenon.
The Idaho Statesman sent surveys to each of the candidates, and their responses are copied below, unedited. Greenzang declined to fill out the survey.
There are no contested races for the District 15 House seats.
All Idaho state legislators serve two-year terms.
In their surveys, the two responding candidates spoke about property tax relief, conservative values and education.
