Voters in Boise’s closely contested legislative District 15 will have six candidates to choose from on Nov. 5 for one state Senate seat and two state House seats.
Freshman Democratic Sen. James “Rick” Just again faces Codi Galloway, a Republican former state representative who lost to Just when she ran for the Senate seat in 2022.
For House Seat A, Democratic incumbent Rep. Steve Berch faces Republican challenger Annette Tipton. For Seat B, incumbent freshman Rep. Dori Healey, a Republican, faces challenger Shari Baber, a Democrat.
District 15 covers a swath of West Boise bordered by East Chinden Boulevard in the north, Idaho 55, I-84, and South Maple Grove Road in the east. It is a rare purple legislative district in Boise.
For this Voter Guide, the Idaho Statesman sent surveys to candidates in contested races for their thoughts on what their district needs most, how they plan to collaborate with other legislators, and what issues they think are not receiving enough attention.
The candidates’ responses are presented below, unedited except to shorten when a candidate exceeded a 100-word limit per answer. Please note the slider at the bottom of the presentation, which will allow you to scroll among all candidates. You also can click on the chart and drag horizontally.
