The latest proposed developments, other construction projects and new businesses around Idaho’s Treasure Valley:
Boise
California-based Slagle Development has plans to build a four-story building with 46 apartments at 2506 W. Targee St. on the Boise Bench just east of South Vista Avenue.
In an application filed with the city, Slagle calls for the building to be 45 feet tall on 0.76 acres. Thirty-eight of the apartments would have between 701 and 1,400 square feet each. The other eight would have 700 square feet or fewer.
The proposal was approved by Boise’s Design Review Committee in January. A grading application was also recently submitted, an indication construction may be starting soon.

Construction for the Greater Boise Aquatic Centre broke ground last week.
The new swimming venue will be located at 3575 S. Findley Ave. in South Boise off South Federal Way. The year-round building will have an eight-lane, 50-meter competition swimming pool; a six-lane, 25-yard pool; locker rooms; showers; and a concession area.

Two historic pools in Boise have been closed for years now — and it’s unclear when that’s going to change.
The city of Boise has scheduled open houses for the Lowell Pool at 1601 N. 28th St. and the South Pool at 921 S. Shoshone St., both of which were constructed in 1953.
The pools are in need of significant repairs and have been closed since 2020. The open houses are meant to gauge resident opinions about the pools’ future, the city said in a news release.
Each open house will take place at the pool sites: South Pool’s will be from 3 to 6 p.m Tuesday April 26, while Lowell Pool’s will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 28.

The Boise School District is beginning work on the new Dallas Harris Elementary School at 3302 S. Barnside Way in Southeast Boise’s Harris Ranch. Plans for the three-story school were announced in March.
The Boise School District applied for a sewer permit.

Oppenheimer Development Corp. is moving forward with its plans to begin construction in late June of its 27-story building at 1115 W. Idaho St. downtown.
The company recently applied for a grading permit. Oppenheimer Vice President Jeremy Malone said in an email that construction is on track to begin this summer. Construction is expected to take 20-22 months, with completion anticipated in early 2024.
The building, with ground-floor retail space and up to 297 apartments, would be Idaho’s tallest.

Fat Guys Fresh Deli is looking at expanding into Boise at 2250 E. Gowen Road. The company bought everything that was inside the building from Quiznos, the prior tenant, according to an application.
Fat Guys Fresh Deli has a location in Meridian and plans for its Southeast Boise location closely resemble the previous location.

A new Dutch Bros. office and warehouse could be coming to West Boise.
Wight Capital LLC is applying for design review of the new building at 8694 W. Ardene St. There’s already a Dutch Brothers store nearby at 8649 W. Overland Road.
Brian Wight is listed as Wight Capital LLC’s registered agent. According to a LinkedIn page, Wight owns a Dutch Brothers franchise.

Insight Global, a national staffing company, has opened an office at 1100 W. Idaho St., Suite 310.
The company, headquartered in Atlanta, has 61 offices. It helps companies find employees. Since 2009, the company says, it has placed more than 270 people with 53 Boise-area companies.

Garden City
Boise developer David Hale seeks to build 58 town houses on 7.8 vacant acres at 130 W. 53rd St., south of the Fred Meyer store on Chinden Boulevard.
The Mountain View Townhomes proposal calls for three-story single family attached town houses.
Hale made improvements to West 53rd Street to allow pedestrian and emergency-vehicle access.

Dianna Binnion, a Boise doctor, seeks approval for 20 town house and fourplex apartment units.
The proposed Binnion Subdivision at 3933 and 3921 Adams St. would have four 3-story town houses and 4 fourplexes. The fourplexes would have a combined eight one-bedroom units and eight two-bedroom units.

Paul Martinet of Caldwell seeks approval for 14 town houses in two buildings of seven units each at 4800 N. Adams Street.

Brent Thompson, a developer from St. George, Utah, applied to build 244 single-family houses and 66 town houses at the northwest corner of North Palmer Lane and West Floating Feather Road.
The subdivision, Millstone Farm Subdivision, would be on nearly 90 acres. It would include sports courts, a swimming pool, pathways, play areas and a small pond, the application said.

WH Eagle 80 LLC, a development company based in Santa Clarita, California, wants to build 140 single-family houses on the north side of Floating Feather Road, between Park Lane and Linder Road.
The Farmstead Landing Subdivision would be on 80 acres. According to the application, the company wants to make the subdivision a “beautiful neighborhood” with “quality homes” on smaller lots.

Meridian
Scott Tschirgi, of Intermountain Pacific LLC, applied to build an apartment complex with 164 apartments.
The apartment complex would have a pool, clubhouse and leasing offices, the application said.
It would be located at 1873 S. Wells Avenue.

Baron Black Cat LLC applied to build an apartment and commercial building with six studio apartments at Mile High Pines, 3199 W. Pine Ave.
The building would have three to six commercial spaces on the first level, with one as a two-story suite. It would have five studio apartments on the second level and one on the first level.

A new Jacksons store and gas station may be coming to Meridian, according to a city filing.
The store and gas station would be at 1133 Chinden Boulevard.

Nampa
The city wants Nampa residents to help determine how to realign and improve State Highway 45, which runs through downtown to connect with the Interstate 84 Business Loop.
“As downtown Nampa continues to develop, the city is exploring other options or locations for the highway route,” the city says in a new report about its continuing study.
“It is a critical route for agribusiness and freight,” the city said in a news release. “Traffic volumes passing through downtown Nampa can exceed 25,000 vehicles every day.”
Potential new routes could include parts of 11th, 12th and 16th avenues or 7th Street and Northside Boulevard.

Primary Health says it will open a new location by expanding and remodeling a former bank building at 1820 Caldwell Blvd. near the intersection with West Karcher Road.
The new clinic would replace the clinic at 700 Caldwell Blvd. with one that offers more space and better visibility, according to a news release. The renovation is planned to be completed by late 2022.

Notable
The hotel industry remains in COVID-19 doldrums nationwide, but less so in Idaho than in most states, says a new report from a national trade association.
While leisure travel is expected to recover this year to 2019 levels, business travel — the industry’s largest revenue generator — is projected to be down 23% this year from 2019, the American Hotel & Lodging Association said. In Idaho, revenue is projected to be down just 1%, to $327 million.
