The state’s best small-town players are on the 1A Division II All-Idaho football team
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Carson Simpson, Carey
The senior running back stepped into a gaping hole left by two-time player of the year Porter Mecham and more than filled it. He ran for 1,826 yards and 38 TDs, adding 302 yards and four TDs receiving to score a program-record 298 points.
“He is an obvious offensive force out of the backfield and has strong defensive stats as well,” Tri-Valley coach Brendon Wolfe said. “Ironman athletes are the bread and butter of 8-man football, and he is a strong ironman athlete.”
COACH OF THE YEAR
Cory Holloway, Lighthouse Christian
He led the Lions to an 11-0 record and dethroned two-time defending state champ Carey.
