5A All-Idaho football team: See who made the cut in Idaho’s toughest, largest class
5A ALL-IDAHO PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Austin Bolt, Borah
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound senior lined up at nearly every position on the field and dominated them all. The future Boise State tight end played QB for the first time, finishing with 2,771 total yards and 36 TDs.
“Austin had a greater impact on our league than any other player in my 29 years of coaching high school football in the SIC,” Capital coach Todd Simis said. “He literally dominated the game, oftentimes in all three phases.”
COACH OF THE YEAR
Armando Gonzalez, Rigby
After missing the playoffs a year ago, the third-year coach led Rigby to its first football state title.

FIRST TEAM
OFFENSE
QB: Keegan Thompson, Rigby
The 6-5, 195-pound Idaho State signee threw for 1,858 yards and 24 TDs, running for 1,364 and 17 more TDs.
RB: Brigham Youngstrom, Rigby
The Trojans’ senior workhorse racked up 1,140 rushing yards and 14 TDs for the state champ.
RB: Kaleb Demuzio, Highland
The junior set a single-game school record with 299 rushing yards en route to 1,250 yards and 10 TDs.
WR: Colbey Nosworthy, Coeur d’Alene
A second-team DB and dangerous kick returner, the senior hauled in 79 catches for 1,196 yards and 12 TDs.
WR: Tommy Hauser, Post Falls
The 5-11, 165-pound junior led 5A in TD catches (17) and ranked second in receptions (77) and yards (1,148).
WR: Cam Churchill, Eagle
The explosive senior caught anything near him, finishing with 56 catches for 978 yards and nine TDs.
OL: BJ Madsen, Rigby
The 6-3, 305-pound junior finished his second year at center but could, and did, play all over the line.
OL: Tanner Nett, Borah
The 6-5, 270-pound junior and two-year captain already has Division I programs sniffing around him.
OL: Gerrit Tamminga, Rocky Mountain
A repeat first-teamer, the 6-3, 285-pound senior has committed to throw for Air Force’s track team.
OL: Hipa Galo, Highland
Opponents found the 6-3, 280-pound junior obliterating the second level of their defense time after time.
OL: Tyler Barron, Meridian
A two-year starter, the 6-3, 255-pound senior paved the way for the Warriors to run for 6 yards a carry.
K: Ian Hershey, Highland
The sophomore set a program record with 12 field goals. He also had 24 touchbacks and converted 35-of-37 PATs.
DEFENSE
DL: Tanoa Togiai, Rigby
Ten FBS schools have offered the 6-7, 295-pound senior, who had 17 tackles for loss and five sacks.
DL: Kamiah Olsen, Highland
A repeat first-teamer, the Idaho State signee racked up 48 tackles and 4.5 sacks in only eight games.
DL: Zhigy Falevai, Rigby
The 6-2, 270-pound senior could move like a receiver, finishing with 15 tackles for loss and five sacks.
LB: Luke McLaughlin, Coeur d’Alene
With an unstoppable motor and nose for the ball, the junior led 5A with 183 tackles (15.3 per game).
LB: Cameron Pruitt, Borah
A two-way threat, the senior totaled 76 tackles, three forced fumbles, three INTs and two defensive TDs.
LB: Derek Tommasini, Eagle
The SIC’s co-defensive player of the year made big plays weekly, finishing with 80 tackles and four sacks.
LB: Caden Thomas, Mountain View
The senior split the SIC defensive award after racking up 76 tackles, five sacks and three forced fumbles.
DB: Jayden Bell, Highland
The senior safety made the first team for the second time with 86 tackles and eight tackles for loss.
DB: Tiloi Nawahine, Rocky Mountain
The senior returned two punts for a TD, two kickoffs for TDs, blocked a kick and made three interceptions.
DB: Trey Talbot, Rigby
The senior and two-year captain kept the Trojans organized from his safety position while making 70 tackles.
DB: Braden Cureton, Rocky Mountain
The senior made 76 tackles and seven for a loss while playing safety, linebacker and even defensive end.
P: Jayden Bell, Highland
The senior repeats on the first team at two positions after averaging 40 yards per punt for the Rams.
