Winner of the Treasure Valley baseball player of the week contest (April 18 to 24)

Voting has closed in the latest Treasure Valley Athletes of the Week contest.

Here are the winners. You can read about all the candidates and their accomplishments below.

  • Baseball: Trace Stimpson, Melba

BASEBALL

Dane Bradshaw, Nampa Christian: Went 7-for-8 with a home run, seven RBIs and six runs scored as the Trojans won three games, extending their winning streak to 17 games.

Korbin McCarney, Borah: Threw a six-hit shutout to lead the Lions to a 5-0 win against Mountain View, which was undefeated in 5A SIC play before the game. He also drove in two of Borah’s five runs at the plate.

Hunter Christensen, Columbia: Ripped a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh to lead the Wildcats to a 1-0 win over Bishop Kelly.

Robert Orloski, Middleton: Struck out 10 while throwing a two-hit shutout to lead the Vikings to a 2-0 victory against Vallivue.

Ian Tippets, Mountain View: Laid down a squeeze bunt to drive in the winning run in a 2-1 win over Skyview. He also doubled twice and drove in four runs in a 15-6 rout of Capital.

Trace Stimpson, Melba: Threw a two-hit shutout and struck out five in a 7-0 win vs. Cole Valley Christian. He also hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and drove in 10 RBIs in three wins.

Dillon Fine, Homedale: Threw a three-hit shutout and struck out 14 in an 18-0 win at Parma. He also went 4-for-5 with three doubles and two RBIs in the game.

Kason O’Neil, Kuna: Went 6-for-9 with three doubles, a triple and five RBIs to lead the Kavemen to a 3-0 week.

Koda Coers, Weiser: Went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs in the Wolverines’ 17-1 win vs. McCall-Donnelly.

Zeke Ochoa, Rimrock: Struck out 15 in a 14-1, five-inning win at Wilder. He held the Wildcats to one run on one hit. He also doubled and stole three bases in the victory.
