New Boise State wide receivers coach Matt Miller adds a third recruit to 2021 class
New Boise State wide receivers coach Matt Miller landed his third recruit in the past four months Friday when 6-foot-3, 180-pound Azle, Texas, native Eric McAllister verbally committed to the Broncos’ 2021 recruiting class.
McAllister is a three-star recruit and the No. 117 overall prospect in Texas, according to 247Sports’ composite rating. He also had scholarship offers from Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Utah and Army.
Last season, he racked up 62 receptions for 1,449 yards and 23 touchdowns while helping Azle High capture a district title for the second year in a row. He caught at least one touchdown pass in 11 of 12 games and topped 100 receiving yards six times, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
Miller, a former Boise State wide receiver himself, left Montana State to join Broncos’ coach Bryan Harsin’s staff in January. Miller played for the Broncos from 2010 to 2014, and he left as the program’s all-time leader in receptions (244).
McAllister announced his commitment on Twitter early Friday morning, joining Arizona native Jalen Richmond, who committed in June, and versatile athlete Kaden Dudley, who started at wide receiver and safety at Palmer Ridge in Colorado but confirmed Friday that the Broncos recruited him as a slot receiver.
McAllister is the 10th known commit in the Broncos’ 2021 class.
