Why are gas prices still rising in Idaho?

Costs at the pump continue to increase as a result of the ongoing U.S. war with Iran.

“Higher crude oil costs, largely the result of conflict in the Middle East, drive up the price of the finished products we get from it — including gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel,” Matthew Conde, AAA Idaho public affairs director, said in a Monday, March 23 news release. “No matter how you or your packages get from Point A to Point B, it carries a higher price tag these days.”

Iran halted all shipments, including crude oil, through the Strait of Hormuz, in response to air strikes from the United States and Israel.

The United States deployed 2,000 troops to the Middle East following the delivery of President Donald Trump’s 15-point plan to end the war to Iran, The New York Times reported.
