This new Meridian restaurant is ‘incredible,’ diners say. Eagle gets one next

A pizzeria new to Idaho has been selling pies for just days, but it’s already drawing rave reviews.

It’s also already gearing up to expand.

Slice House by Tony Gemignani, which held its grand opening Saturday at 1582 Orchard Park Drive in Meridian, has secured a second Treasure Valley location.

The Gem State’s next Slice House will open in southeastern Eagle. It will be in the East End Marketplace development — near the corner of Idaho 44 and Edgewood Lane — with a target opening date of mid-2026, Gemignani said. Panera Bread recently opened at East End Marketplace. Chick-fil-A is building a restaurant there, too.

Meridian’s Slice House has earned an impressive 4.8 out of 5 stars from 22 Google reviews so far. Despite being a fast-casual franchise concept, Slice House serves “elevated, chef-driven pizza,” founder Gemignani, a 13-time pizza world champion, told me late last year. It’s “much different” than most pizza chains, he said.

“Incredible!” a Google Local Guide gushed about the Meridian restaurant. “The sauce is flavorful and the crust is cooked to perfection.”

Meridian’s Slice House serves “an expansive menu of Gemignani’s famous New York, Sicilian, Grandma and Detroit style pizzas,” according to a press release, “available by the slice or as whole pies, with gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options available. The menu also includes fresh pastas, wings and salads, while the beverage selection features local craft beers, premium wines and non-alcoholic options.”

Offering traditional seated dining and takeout, Meridian’s Slice House even serves an exclusive, Idaho-inspired pizza: Huckleberry Pie. It’s made with purple potatoes, baby red potatoes, mozzarella, applewood-smoked bacon, maple bacon, Larchwood Farms Huckleberry Jam, sliced green onions, chili flake peppers, romano cheese, oregano and garlic oil, according to the release. Huckleberry Pie is sold by the slice only — and comes with a side of sour cream.

“Wow this place has delicious food!” another Google Local Guide raved about the Meridian store. “I highly recommend the Huckleberry Pie pizza!”
