FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Drew Holman, Middleton: Racked up 17 tackles, two sacks and an interception on defense, and ran for 148 yards and two TDs on offense in a 17-14 win over Mountain View to clinch a state playoff berth.

Taeshaun Reese, Rocky Mountain: Turned 12 offensive touches into 107 yards and two touchdowns in a 38-0 win over No. 2-ranked Eagle in the 6A SIC championship game.

Marcellus Clay, Capital: Scored five total touchdowns in a 32-22 upset of Borah to secure Capital a playoff berth. He ran for 119 yards and three TDs, caught five passes for 67 yards and a score, and returned a punt 83 yards for a touchdown.

Hudson Lewis, Timberline: Forced and returned a fumble 57 yards for a touchdown, returned a punt 63 yards for another score, and forced a second fumble in a 36-35 overtime win against Owyhee to clinch a playoff berth.

Ben Avella, Bishop Kelly: Had a hand in all three touchdowns in the Knights’ 21-6 win over Emmett for the 5A SIC title. He completed 9-of-16 passes for 191 yards and two TDs. He also ran for 18 yards and a score.

Henry Downey, Skyview: Went 8-for-12 for 125 yards and a touchdown through the air, and ran for 60 yards and two more scores on the ground in a 21-0 win vs. Ridgevue.

Onix Carson, Vallivue: Ran for 130 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries in a 25-14 win over Nampa that clinched the Falcons a playoff berth and a first-round home game.

Xavier Uranga, Homedale: Completed 9-of-10 passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns in a 54-0 blowout of Cole Valley Christian.

Kolin Cook, Weiser: Went 5-for-5 for 116 yards and four touchdowns, and ran for a fifth score in a 70-13 win vs. Payette.

Payton Travis, New Plymouth: Ran for 265 yards and three touchdowns in a 36-34 win over Melba, including a game-winning, 35-yard touchdown run on 4th-and-5 with 1:11 left.
