SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Peyton Bargen, Eagle: Pitched every inning for the Mustangs en route to the 6A District Three title, holding opponents to three runs on 10 hits while striking out 20 in 21 innings. She also went 6-for-8 at the plate with a double, two home runs and four RBIs.

Delaney Wright, Timberline: Led the Wolves to a runner-up finish at the 6A District Three Tournament, their best since 2011. She went 5-for-9 with a double, a home run and seven RBIs in three games. She also held opponents to nine runs (three earned) on 11 hits while striking out 28 in 18 innings.

McKenna Schab, Owyhee: Finished three games going 5-for-10 with a home run and six RBIs as the Storm secured a state tournament berth.

Lizzy Turpen, Capital: Went 6-for-13 with a double, two home runs and three RBIs to clinch Capital a trip to state.

Kiki Bangham, Mountain View: Went 5-for-11 with two doubles, two home runs and six RBIs in three games to help the Mavericks clinch a state tournament berth.

Tayler Kloczko, Rocky Mountain: Sent the Grizzlies to state with a walk-off single in an 8-7 win over Thunder Ridge in a state play-in game.

Lauren Fettic, Bishop Kelly: Went 6-for-6 with two doubles, a home run and six RBIs in two games to power the Knights to the 5A District Three Tournament title. She also went 2-0 inside the circle with 10 strikeouts in 10 innings.

Makenna Shamy, Skyview: Went 6-for-12 with two home runs to lead the Hawks to a 5A state tournament berth. She also threw a three-inning, no-hit shutout of Lakeland and struck out six in the play-in game.

Lauren Colson, Cole Valley Christian: Went 6-for-7 with a home run and four stolen bases to lead the Chargers to the 4A District Three title. She also threw two scoreless innings of relief.

Peyton Shook, Nampa Christian: Led the Trojans to the 3A WIC district title at the plate and in the pitcher’s circle. She went 3-for-6 with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs in two games. She also struck out 22 in 12 innings.

Kinlea Cole, Parma: Went 5-for-7 with three doubles to lead the Panthers to a second-place finish at the 3A WIC district tournament and a spot at state.

Analyse Durham, Melba: Went 9-for-18 with four doubles, a home run and nine RBIs as the Mustangs finished third in the 3A WIC district tournament and clinched a state tournament berth in a play-in game.
