BASEBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bryce Tam, Owyhee: Threw a complete game in the decisive victory that sent Owyhee to state, holding Eagle to two runs (none earned) on three hits while striking out four.

Beau Ramsey, Middleton: Went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, and earned a win on the mound as the Vikings swept their regional. He limited Centennial to two runs on four hits with seven strikeouts in six innings in Middleton’s first victory.

Ryan Yesford, Mountain View: Went 7-for-13 with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs as the Mavericks rallied after an early loss to win their regional tournament and clinch a state tournament berth.

Caleb Zawadzki, Eagle: Threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout and struck out five in a 5-0 victory that handed Owyhee its second loss of the season. He also went 7-for-14 with a double, a triple and three RBIs in four games.

Cooper Crutcher, Vallivue: Held Lewiston to one run on five hits while striking out seven for a complete-game victory in a 3-1 win that clinched the Falcons their first state tournament berth since 2018.

Henry Downey, Skyview: Led the Hawks to a 5A regional title and a state tournament berth with a 4-for-13 weekend that included two doubles, five RBIs and three stolen bases.

Coye Coffman, Fruitland: Threw four scoreless innings to clinch a sweep in the 4A regional series. He also went 2-for-5 with a triple, an RBI and three stolen bases in the series.

Carson Kile, Cole Valley Christian: Went 4-for-6 with a double, two RBIs and two stolen bases as the Chargers swept Timberline for a 4A state tournament berth.

Luke Steinmeyer, Marsing: Went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBIs to power the Huskies to a 3A regional title and a state tournament berth.

Kaden Mullins, Nampa Christian: Threw five no-hit innings and struck out nine in two appearances as the Trojans swept Firth in the 3A regionals. He also went 5-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBIs in two games.
