BOYS TRACK
Tyler Sainsbury, Rocky Mountain: A week after running the fastest 1,600 meters in the state this season, he won the 800 at the Patriot Invite in a state-leading and personal-best time of 1 minute, 54.20 seconds.
Liam Murray, Boise: Won the 400 meters in 48.60 at the Oregon Relays and also ran legs on the Brave’s winning 4x200 (1:29.69), and second-place 4x400 (3:24.63) and sprint medley (3:38.16) relay teams. Boise finished as the co-ed team champion.
Landon Helms, Emmett: A few weeks after establishing the fastest time in the 110-meter hurdles this season, he broke his own mark, clocking a time of 13.93 seconds in the prelims at the Oregon Relays. He went on to win the finals of the event in 14.04. Either time is fast enough to break the overall state meet record of 14.08, which has stood since 1985. He also won the pole vault at the Oregon Relays with a clearance of 16 feet, 6.75 inches, which would also best the overall state meet record.
Jackson Beck, Mountain View: With a throw of 56-11.75, he won the shot put at the Oregon Relays. His mark is tops in the state this season and a personal best.
McKoy Richardson, Melba: He competed in two meets last week, winning the 110 hurdles (15.69) and anchoring the winning 4x400 relay (3:33.90) at the Weiser Invite. He then set a new school record in the 400 meters with a time of 50.67, winning the event at the Knight Invite. He also took first in the 300 hurdles in 39.46. He owns the 2A classification’s top times in the 400, 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles.
James Onanubosi, Bishop Kelly: Running on his home track, he established the fastest 100 in the 4A classification this season, winning the Knight Invite in 10.67.
Samuel Fish, Vallivue: He took first in the 1,600 at the Knight Invite in a personal-best and 4A classification-leading 4:19.35.
