The Boise State football program improved to 6-3 against Top 10 teams on Saturday with an upset win at BYU.

Here are the six wins and three losses in program history:

2021 (win): The unranked Broncos beat No. 10 BYU 26-17 on Saturday at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo. It was only the second time they’ve beaten a Top 10 team in a true road game.

2020 (loss): No. 21 Boise State got walloped by No. 9 BYU 51-17 at Albertsons Stadium. The Broncos played most of the game without their top two quarterbacks.

2014 (win): No. 20 Boise State earned its third Fiesta Bowl championship with a 38-30 victory against No. 10 Arizona in Glendale, Arizona. The Broncos dominated for much of the game but stopped the Wildcats inside the 10-yard line on the final drive.

2010 (win): No. 3 Boise State picked up one of the program’s signature victories in the season opener against No. 10 Virginia Tech at the Washington Football Team’s stadium in Landover, Maryland. The Broncos blew a big lead but quarterback Kellen Moore famously led a game-winning touchdown drive in the 33-30 triumph.

2009-10 (win): No. 6 Boise State beat No. 4 TCU 17-10 in the 2010 Fiesta Bowl (end of the 2009 season). Both teams were undefeated, and the Broncos scored the game-winning touchdown after stunning the Horned Frogs with a fake punt.

2006-07 (win): No. 9 Boise State beat No. 7 Oklahoma in the 2007 Fiesta Bowl (end of the 2006 season). The Broncos prevailed 43-42 in overtime in one of the most thrilling games in college football history. The Broncos scored the overtime-forcing touchdown on a hook-and-lateral and the game-winning points on a Statue of Liberty two-point conversion.

2004 (loss): No. 10 Boise State dropped a shootout to No. 8 Louisville 44-40 in the Liberty Bowl. The Broncos, who were undefeated during the regular season, quieted some skeptics of their rising program with the performance.

2001 (win): Unranked Boise State shocked No. 8 Fresno State 35-30 at Bulldog Stadium — putting a dent in David Carr’s Heisman Trophy campaign at the same time. The Broncos overcame a 28-14 deficit.

1996 (loss): In its first year as an FBS program, unranked Boise State lost 56-7 at No. 5 Arizona State. That Sun Devils team, led by Boise’s Jake Plummer, went to the Rose Bowl.
