UPDATE (Dec. 15, 2025): This story has been updated with additional information provided by the Ada County Coroner’s Office. An earlier version contained incorrect information about where the victim died.
The Meridian Police Department is investigating a crash between a pickup truck and a sport motorcycle near a Meridian high school that left a 20-year-old man dead Friday morning.
Police responded to a crash on the 5400 block of North Linder Road near Rocky Mountain High School at about 10:30 a.m., where they found a man who had been riding a Kawasaki sport-bike-style motorcycle seriously injured, according to an MPD press release.
The man was driving north on Linder Road when a Jeep Gladiator entered the road and collided with him. According to police, the rider was wearing a helmet.
He was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where he died after lifesaving measures were unsuccessful, according to a Dec. 15 news release from the Ada County Coroner’s Office. The victim was identified as 20-year-old Landon Dela Rosa of Meridian.
Police say no students from Rocky Mountain were directly involved in the crash. Some lanes were blocked by the crash, and the West Ada School District enacted a plan to reduce traffic congestion at the end of the schoolday.
