Mountain Home motorcycle driver dies in accident. She was U.S. Air Force member

A single-vehicle accident led to the death of a motorcyclist on Sunday in Elmore County.

A 25-year-old woman from Mountain Home was driving a motorcycle east on Pine-Featherville Highway when she “failed to negotiate a turn,” Idaho State Police said in a news release. The motorcyclist was an airman assigned to the 366th Fighter Wing, the Mountain Home Air Force Base confirmed in a news release.

Police said she lost control and “became separated from the motorcycle” at about 1:17 p.m. near mile marker 14, north of Pine and Anderson Ranch Reservoir.

The driver died from her injuries at the scene of the crash, according to the release.

Law enforcement closed traffic lanes for about 90 minutes following the accident. State police were investigating the incident.
