Officials reopen Idaho 55 lanes following brush fire near Avimor

Idaho 55 has reopened following a brush fire north of Boise on Sunday evening.

Law enforcement closed a four-mile stretch of roadway shortly before 6 p.m. between Avimor and Summit Ridge Road in Horseshoe Bend, according to the Boise County Sheriff’s Office. Officials reopened the highway to traffic with reduced lanes at about 7:24 p.m., according to the Eagle Fire Department.

All lanes are back open, Eagle Deputy Fire Marshal John Francesconi confirmed to the Idaho Statesman on Monday.

The fire grew to about 20 acres before fire crews contained it, according to Francesconi. He said the cause is still unknown.
