Canyon County crash leaves 1 dead after vehicle collides with motorcycle near Caldwell

A crash left a motorcyclist dead Wednesday night just north of Caldwell in Canyon County.

A 24-year-old Caldwell man was driving his car north on Old Highway 30 before turning into a driveway at about 9:16 p.m. near Galloway Road, according to an Idaho State Police news release.

As the driver turned, police said he failed to yield to a motorcycle heading south and collided with it. injuring the 55-year-old motorcyclist from Caldwell. The 55-year-old motorcyclist from Caldwell died from his injuries at the scene, Idaho State Police reported.

Police have not released the names of the drivers.

The highway was blocked for about three hours after the collision. State police, who were assisted at the scene by the Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, said they were continuing to investigate.
