Update: Ada County coroner IDs 24-year-old Idaho woman who died on Interstate 84

A 24-year-old Caldwell woman died after she side-swiped another vehicle on Interstate 84 on Sunday night and rolled her vehicle, according to Idaho State Police.

Kristina Carlson died just after 8 p.m. due to blunt force injuries, according to the Ada County Coroner’s Office. Her death was ruled an accident.

Carlson was driving eastbound on I-84 near Eagle Road in Meridian when her vehicle, a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer, crossed lanes and struck a 2021 Hyundai Kona being driven by a 52-year-old Boise woman, according to a news release.

The 24-year-old was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle when her car rolled, according to state police. She succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The driver of the Hyundai was not transported by an emergency vehicle.
