A Caldwell man accused of shooting someone in a northern Boise neighborhood has been extradited back to Idaho after he was arrested last month near Olympia, Washington.

Bennett Lembke, 34, was booked into the Ada County Jail last week after he was arrested in Thurston County, Washington, in September. It took nearly a month to extradite him to Idaho, according to court records.

He’s now facing three felonies: robbery, aggravated battery and an enhancement for the use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the Idaho Statesman.

Just after 10:50 p.m. Sept. 6, Lembke shot and injured a man and robbed him of his cellphone and money, according to the complaint. The man, who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, was shot in the abdomen, the complaint said.

The man was found injured in front of a house near 36th Street on West Forsythia Drive, according to the Boise Police Department.

Lembke appeared before 4th Judicial District Magistrate Judge Joanne Kibodeaux last week, where she kept his bond at $750,000 despite a request from the public defender’s office that it be lowered. She also signed a no-contact order preventing him from contacting the victim.

His next hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Oct. 22 at the Ada County Courthouse, court records showed.
