UPDATE: Suspect of northern Boise shooting found, arrested in Washington
Police late Thursday said they arrested a suspect for the shooting in northern Boise that left a person injured nearly a week ago.
Bennett Lembke, a 34-year-old Caldwell resident, was arrested following a traffic stop in Thurston County, Washington, after Boise police identified him as the suspect and issued a warrant, the agency said in a news release Thursday evening. He was booked into Thurston County Jail on suspicion of robbery and aggravated battery, police said.
Just after 10:52 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a reported shooting near 36th Street on West Forsythia Drive, where they found an injured man in front of a house, police spokesperson Haley Williams told the Idaho Statesman over the weekend. The man was taken to a hospital with injuries that “appeared on scene to be serious but non-life-threatening,” she said.
In a follow-up email Thursday, Williams said the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.
Williams didn’t answer a question on whether the shooter and victim knew each other, but she said there is no ongoing threat to the neighborhood. The victim was treated and released from the hospital, she added.
