Oregon man facing multiple sex-crime charges arrested by Ada County sheriff’s deputies

The Ada County’s Sheriff’s Office arrested Bill David Gonyer, 73, on Dec. 28 after working with authorities in Baker City, Oregon, where Gonyer was wanted on 20 sexual abuse charges and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon.

The Baker County Sheriff’s Office had a warrant for Gonyer’s arrest on Dec. 24 after receiving a report about the sexual abuse of a minor. Authorities searched his residence at 35002 Stices Gulch Road in Baker City, but soon learned that Gonyer was in Boise, according to a news release from the Baker County sheriff.

Deputies from Baker County traveled to Idaho and worked with the Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Idaho State Police and the Boise Veteran Affairs police to question and eventually arrest Gonyer, the news release said. He is in custody at the Ada County Jail awaiting extradition to Oregon.

Gonyer faces three rape charges, six counts of sex abuse, five counts of sodomy, two counts of unlawful sexual penetration, two counts of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor, one count of using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct, one count of luring a minor and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon.
