Police seek leads in New Year’s hit-and-run that sent a person to the hospital
Police are looking for the person who hit a pedestrian around 1 a.m. on New Year’s Day in Caldwell.
The hit-and-run happened near the intersection of Simplot Boulevard and Paynter Avenue, according to a news release from Idaho State Police.
Two adults were crossing Simplot Boulevard (also known as Idaho 19) when a westbound vehicle hit one of them. The car kept driving and left the scene, ISP said.
The pedestrian was taken to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
Police believe the suspect’s vehicle is a Kia or Hyundai passenger car. The car is missing its passenger-side headlight, ISP said.
