Coroner names Nampa woman killed in I-84 crash. Police say she was passenger in vehicle
A 62-year-old Nampa woman who was a passenger in a car was killed in a crash on Interstate 84 on Saturday, according to a news release from Idaho State Police, and on Tuesday the Ada County coroner identified the victim as Jeanette Perez.
A 37-year-old female from Nampa was driving westbound on I-84 in Elmore County in a 2014 Mazda when the vehicle crossed over the right fog line and struck an unoccupied Honda Accord that was on the right shoulder. The crash took place at about 11:47 a.m., police said.
The driver was wearing a seat belt and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Perez, the passenger, was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, where she died from blunt force injuries, according to the coroner’s report.
ISP said that Perez was not wearing a seat belt and that it is still investigating the accident.
