Melba man dies and another from Nampa hurt in Saturday morning head-on crash, police say

One man was killed and another injured in a head-on collision Saturday morning south of Nampa, Idaho State Police said in a news release.

Authorities said a 26-year-old Melba man was driving north on Idaho 45 near Deer Flat Road about 10:45 a.m. when his Toyota Corolla crossed the center line. He collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by a 33-year-old Nampa man.

The Toyota driver died of injuries at the scene, police said. The pickup driver and his passenger were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. Names of those involved were not released.

Police said all three people were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
