Police find body of Nampa man who fell out of his boat, drowned in Snake River

Police have found the body of a man who reportedly fell out of his boat and drowned in the Snake River on Sunday, according to a Canyon County Sheriff’s Office press release.

The body of 42-year-old James L. Clure, of Nampa, was found Tuesday around 5:45 p.m., according to the release. His body was found about one-and-a-half miles downstream from the boat launch at Martin’s Landing, west of Parma.

Clure’s is the second drowning death in Canyon County this year after a 28-year-old man drowned in Lake Lowell in May.

Witnesses told police that Clure did not appear to be wearing a life jacket when he fell out of the boat near the Nyssa Bridge. Police have been searching for him since Sunday afternoon.
