Search continues in Snake River for man who fell out of boat Sunday
Searching resumed Monday for a 42-year-old man who reportedly fell into the Snake River west of Parma Sunday, Canyon County spokesman Joe Decker said.
The man was not found, but the boat was located, Decker said Monday afternoon. Information was not available on where the boat was spotted, he said, but arrangements are being made to return it to the man’s family.
The missing man has not been publicly identified yet. Searching continued until just before sunset Sunday and resumed the next morning, with searchers from Malheur County, Ore., joining in, Decker said.
The man and his boat were last seen floating toward Gold Island near the Nyssa Bridge near the state line between Canyon and Malheur counties.
Rescuers searched for the man, who reportedly was not wearing a life jacket, by air ambulance, aircraft and power boat.
