Ada County sheriff, Boise Fire seek public’s help as they investigate Claremont Fire
The Ada County Sheriff’s Office and Boise Fire Department are asking for the public’s help as they work to determine the cause of the Claremont Fire.
As of Friday afternoon, the fire in the Boise Foothills had burned more than 6,500 acres and was 23% contained. Chad Cline, the Bureau of Land Management’s fire information officer, told the Idaho Statesman earlier this week that the fire is likely “human caused.”
Anyone recreating around the Military Reserve Connection Trail, Crestline Trail or Kestrel Trail between noon and 2 p.m. Monday is asked to report any “unusual activity in the area, including suspicious vehicles or individuals,” according to a joint social media post from the sheriff’s office and Boise Fire.
Meanwhile, homeowners in or around North Claremont Drive, North Mountain Cove Road and East Reserve Street are asked to review any camera footage from July 6 prior to the start of the fire and following the initial blaze for anything out of the ordinary, officials said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch line at 208-377-6790, email acsotips@adacounty.id.gov, or submit an anonymous tip through the Ada County Sheriff’s app and reference report ACS26-6055.
