Coroner identifies Garden City woman who died after Eagle car crash
A 91-year-old Garden City woman has died as a result of a car crash that occurred Monday in Eagle.
Ruth Thayer died at Saint Alphonsus in Boise at 2:29 a.m. Thursday, according to the Ada County Coroner’s Office. She received multiple blunt-force injuries in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of E. State Street and S. Edgewood Lane, the coroner’s report said.
Thayer was turning left to go southbound onto S. Edgewood when her 2004 Ford Thunderbird collided with a 2024 GMC Sierra being driven by a 48-year-old male, Eagle police said in a social media post. Neither vehicle had any passengers.
Both drivers were taken to the hospital, and Thayer succumbed to her injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office — Eagle contracts its law enforcement services with the Sheriff’s Office — and anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to email acsotips@adacounty.id.gov or call non-emergency dispatch at 208-377-6790.
