Coronavirus: COVID tests available at Nampa, Caldwell Walmarts; 116 new cases Sunday
Quest Diagnostics — a large clinical lab company that conducts coronavirus testing around the country — is now offering COVID-19 tests at Walmart Neighborhood Market pharmacies around the country, including two in the Treasure Valley.
COVID-19 tests from Quest can be ordered online without a doctor’s order and either delivered to you door or picked up at drive-thru Walmart pharmacies at the following two locations:
- 622 E. Ustick Road, Caldwell
- 175 S. Middleton Road, Nampa
Both pharmacies are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
According to Quest’s website, each test costs around $130. Once a sample is taken, it can be mailed by you or mailed by the pharmacy.
Return times vary by demand, but currently results can come back within a few days, according to a news release from Quest.

Garden City Police cancel Trunk or Treat Halloween event
Yet another event in the Treasure Valley has been canceled because of the coronavirus outbreak.
The Garden City Police Department announced in a Facebook post Monday that its annual Trunk or Treat event will not take place this year. The department plans on hosting the event in 2021.
Over 110 new COVID-19 cases reported Sunday in Idaho
Idaho’s health districts and the Department of Health and Welfare reported 116 new confirmed coronavirus cases on Sunday.
The state’s coronavirus case count grew to 34,503 cases overall since the pandemic began. No new deaths were reported Sunday, and the state’s coronavirus death total remains at 441.
Ada and Canyon counties reported 22 and 26 new COVID-19 cases respectively, bring the totals for each to 11,338 and 7,432.
Other counties that reported double-digit cases on Sunday include Bonneville (22 new), Madison (15) and Twin Falls (16).
Of those confirmed to have the virus, IDHW says 20,304 are presumed to be recovered. IDHW also reported 25 new “probable” cases Sunday, bringing that total to 3,123. Around Idaho, 289,163 COVID-19 tests have been administered, with about 12% of tests returning positive.

Community spread has been detected in all Idaho counties, with the exceptions of Adams, Butte and Franklin counties.
