On June 19, one case was moved from Twin Falls County to Gooding County. It’s unclear which case, but that dropped Twin Falls to 25 deaths.

It was the first death in Gooding County.

Case No. 70: Ada County

Central District Health reported one new death in Ada County on May 14, for a total of 22 in the county. No details were provided.

Canyon County?

Southwest District Health reported a new death in Canyon County on May 11. No details were provided. Southwest District Health and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare removed that Canyon death from the total on May 12.

“One of the deaths that was counted yesterday has since been found to have been a resident of a different country, so it has been removed from the Idaho totals,” Health and Welfare tweeted.

This is the same death that was reported April 10 and removed May 6, according to Southwest District Health.

From the start, coronavirus cases have been moved to the person’s place of residence — sometimes shifting cases to other counties or states.

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reported three new deaths in Twin Falls County on April 14, for a total of seven in the county. No details were provided.

Cases No. 33-35: Nez Perce County

Idaho North Central District reported three new deaths April 14, for a total of nine. No details were provided. The area has 20 confirmed cases and six probable cases with nine deaths — a 34.6% fatality rate. All of the deaths have been in people 50-plus years old. Five were women, four were men.

Cases No. 31-32: Twin Falls County

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare reported two new deaths in Twin Falls County on April 13, for a total of four in the county. No details were provided.

Cases No. 28-30: Ada County

Central District Health reported three new deaths in Ada County on April 13. Two were in the “probable” category, which means the person’s “death certificate lists COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 as contributing to death without laboratory confirmation,” according to the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. No details were provided.

CDH announced April 14 that one of its deaths was a resident of Avamere Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Boise.

Case No. 27: Nez Perce County

Idaho North Central District reported the sixth death in Nez Perce County on April 13. No details were provided. That’s six deaths out of 20 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the county (30%). All six have been 50-plus years old and four were men, although the latest victim appears to be a woman according to the district’s demographic totals.

Case No. 26: Payette County

The first death in Payette County was reported, again, April 11 by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. A death was reported in Payette County on April 6 and removed from reports on April 8 (see below). It was added back on April 11 after confirmation of the cause of death, according to Southwest District Health. The case involved a man in his 50s who was “hospitalized with underlying health complications,” according to the district.

A second Twin Falls County death was reported April 11 by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. No details were provided.

Canyon County?

A Canyon County death was reported April 10 by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. No details were provided.

However, on May 6, the death was removed from Southwest District Health’s county total because the person was determined to be a non-resident of Idaho, spokesperson Katrina Williams said.

Case No. 24: Jerome County

A second Jerome County death was reported April 9 by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. No details were provided.

Case No. 23: Canyon County

A fourth Canyon death was reported April 9 by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare and Southwest District Health. No details were provided.

Payette County?

A death was reported in Payette County on April 6 by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, the first for the county. No details were provided. It was removed from the state and Southwest District reports April 8 pending “cause of death confirmation,” according to the district.

Case No. 11-12: Canyon County

Two deaths were reported in Canyon County on April 6 by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, for a total of three in the county. They involved a man in his 80s with underlying conditions who had been hospitalized, and a woman in her 80s with underlying conditions who had been hospitalized and returned home for hospice care, according to Southwest District Health.

Case No. 10: Twin Falls County

South Central Public Health District reported the first COVID-19-related death in Twin Falls County on April 3 in a woman over 70. “She was hospitalized and had complicating health factors,” according to the press release.

Case No. 9: Nez Perce County

The Idaho North Central District reported the second death in Nez Perce County on March 31 in a person over age 80.

Case No. 8: Ada County

The county’s third death was reported March 30 by Central District Health. No details were provided.

Case No. 7: Cassia County

Cassia County’s first death related to COVID-19 was announced March 30 by South Central Public Health. The case involved a woman over 70. She had “complicating health factors,” according to the health district press release. She likely contracted the virus from visitors to her home from areas that had community spread, the release said. The case was reported March 23 and is the only case reported in the county.

Case No. 6: Ada County

Central District Health updated its website on the evening of March 28 to reflect a second death in Ada County. No further details were provided.

Case No. 5: Ada County

The individual was over the age of 60 with pre-existing health issues and a lab-confirmed illness that was being investigated prior to death, Central District Health said in a press release March 28. Epidemiologists with CDH continue their contact investigation, and if other people are found to have been exposed, officials will provide guidance to them and will monitor them for symptoms.

Case No. 4: Nez Perce County

The individual was over the age of 80 and had age-related health issues, Idaho’s North Central District public health office said in a press release March 27. The deceased was a previously confirmed death in the county that was still under investigation. INCD said if others are found to have been exposed, public health officials will provide guidance to them and will monitor them closely for symptoms.

Case No. 3: Canyon County

A man in his 70s from Canyon County had underlying health issues and had been hospitalized, according to Southwest District Health. The death was announced March 26.

Cases No. 1-2: Blaine County

The cases involved a man over 60 and a man over 80. Their deaths were announced March 26.
