This restaurant’s ‘amazed’ Boise for 20 years. You’re next, Meridian
If you skim online reviews of downtown Boise’s Bombay Grill, one word keeps jumping off the screen and into your brain, kick-starting the neurotransmitters that make your mouth water.
The chicken curry? “Amazing.” Garlic naan? “Amazing.” Wait staff? Service? Restaurant itself?
“Amazing.” “Amazing.” “Amazing.”
What about the only remaining Indian lunch buffet in Boise?
You guessed it.
(Also “a delight!”)
It’s all exclamation-point-worthy news for Meridian appetites. Because after 20 years in Boise’s Idanha Building at 928 W. Main St., Bombay Grill plans to spice up West Ada County, too.
The family-owned restaurant will open a second location at 2830 Eagle Road, suite 110 — a building that also houses Five Guys and Firehouse Subs, among others. The plan is to welcome customers starting in late August, says co-owner Param Singh, whose father started Bombay Grill.
Like the familiar Boise destination, Meridian’s Bombay Grill will be a full-service operation.
“The menu will be the same as our Boise location,” Singh explained in a message, “including our popular lunch buffet six days a week.”
Initially, the new location will offer takeout only. Singh said he expects to unveil full dine-in service in September.
Would you like to enjoy a cocktail with your butter chicken or saag paneer? “We’ve already purchased a liquor license,” Singh said.
(Once again, amazing.)
When Utah-based Red Fort Cuisine Of India opened a Meridian restaurant two years ago, it raised the bar for the city’s Indian cuisine. Red Fort’s 4.9 out of 5 stars on Google is even more impressive than Bombay Grill’s 4.5. (Red Fort’s food? “Phenomenal,” a recent Google reviewer raved.)
But if Bombay Grill’s Meridian store is anything like its flagship Boise location, the competition will benefit everyone’s taste buds in the area.
“I’ve never had anything less than delicious at Bombay Grill,” a recent review gushed. “… The atmosphere is perfect, and the family that owns it are the nicest people ever. Love this place. I would eat it every day if I could!”
