This restaurant closed in Boise’s downtown food hall after less than a year
Counting on getting your seafood fix at downtown Boise’s Warehouse Food Hall?
That’s just, um, fishful thinking.
Driftwood Fry House recently walked the plank. The closure is permanent, according to Driftwood’s social media.
Driftwood opened less than a year ago in the same vendor spot previously occupied by Freshie’s Lobster Co., a lobster-roll concept that also jumped ship after about a year. Local raw-fish chain Paddles Up Poke also no longer operates in the Warehouse Food Hall.
When Driftwood Fry House opened, it brought “a wide selection of fresh and fried seafood options to The Warehouse with a menu that includes fish and chips, shrimp and more,” a press release said.
Now that the concept is history? “We are working on a new project,” Driftwood wrote on Instagram. “Gift cards purchased will be redeemable at the new location.”
As of this moment, here are the dining options at the Warehouse Food Hall, 370 S. 8th St.: Anzalone Pizza, Basquenese, Caffe d’Arte, Camp Cocktail Bar, Foy’s Franks, KB’s Burritos, The Loading Dock, Mazzah Mediterranean, Neighbor Tim’s BBQ, Poppy Seed Bakery & Cafe, Rush Bowls, Totally Smashed and Wok N’ Roll.
Just Chicken, which specializes in tenders, is slated to open this summer. And Wok N’ Roll plans to transition to its own restaurant space across the street at 345 S. 8th St. by the end of the year.
