This new restaurant is ‘coming soon’ in Garden City — where a barbecue chain closed

Fans of fast-casual Asian food have reason to smile in Garden City.

Happy Teriyaki plans to open at 6708 N. Glenwood St., in a strip mall near D&B Supply. The restaurant is “coming soon,” according to the franchise chain’s website. It will take over a space vacated last fall when Dickey’s Barbecue Pit closed.

Happy Teriyaki already has 10 Idaho locations, its website says — including nine in the Boise area.

An order-at-the-counter, fast-casual concept, Happy Teriyaki specializes in its namesake: tasty steamed rice, veggies and meats served via “Happy Plates” ($12.95-$17.50) and “Happy Bowls” ($10.25-$11.45).

Other menu options include fried rice, combination plates, yakisoba noodles and more. The chain also pours 20 different bubble teas.

“Happy Teriyaki started off with the mission of bringing a taste of Asia to the Treasure Valley,” its website says. “We wanted to offer quality Asian and Chinese food at low prices and have always been committed to using only the freshest ingredients.”
