This Eagle restaurant served food hailed as ‘delicious’ by Bobby Flay. Now it’s closed

Squeeze In has been squeezed out of Idaho.

The regional chain’s Eagle location has closed. Opened four years ago as a franchise store at 228 E. Plaza Drive, its final day was just over three weeks ago, according to a post on its Facebook page.

Squeeze In restaurants specialize in breakfast and lunch. A quirky brand with a space-alien mascot and hippie-tinged vibe, Squeeze In is known for serving what it calls “the best omelettes on the planet.”

In 2010, celebrity chef Bobby Flay traveled to Reno and visited a Squeeze In featured on “Throwdown with Bobby Flay” on Food Network. Flay praised Squeeze In’s omelettes as “absolutely delicious.”

Founded in downtown Truckee, California, in 1974, the original Squeeze In cafe got its name because of its size. The Eagle location was about 1,800 square feet with around 60 seats.

North Idahoans should note that Squeeze In is not related to the family-owned Squeeze Inn in Clark Fork.
