Closing original spot, Meridian restaurant is ‘thrilled’ to announce it’s ‘consolidating’
Customers walking up to a well-known Meridian restaurant for breakfast Tuesday were greeted with a surprise.
Locked doors and a note posted.
Biscuit & Hogs, 2032 E. Overland Road, has closed — permanently.
Opened in 2020 in a former Original Sunrise Cafe, the Idaho-based brand is now focusing on its other location at 6192 N. Linder Road in north Meridian.
“We’re thrilled to announce that we’re consolidating our operations ...” the note explained.
Biscuit & Hogs now has a single remaining restaurant. Until recently, there were three. In addition to two in the Boise area, Biscuit & Hogs also expanded to Ogden, Utah. But that restaurant also has shuttered, according to Google reviews.
Saying goodbye to Overland and moving to Linder “ensures a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for both our customers and staff,” Biscuit & Hogs wrote on Facebook, where the same message was shared Monday night. “Despite challenges at our original location, including building issues beyond our control, we are committed to elevating your experience at our new site.”
Opened in January near WinCo in the Orchard Park development, the newer Biscuit & Hogs is considered the flagship store. It has nearly twice the seating capacity of the original location: 290 indoors and on a covered patio outside.
A self-described “American eatery” that encourages customers to “release your inner pig,” Biscuit & Hogs is known for serving familiar but creative food — including all-day breakfast — in large portions. It also emphasizes beer, mimosas and cocktails.
The restaurant’s description on Google calls it a spot “for pork belly bacon and glazed maple chicken served with biscuits, eggs and home fries.”
