This restaurant’s chicken is ‘incredible.’ Meridian, Nampa customers get a free sandwich
When it comes to spicy chicken chains, one stands tallest in the Boise area: Dave’s Hot Chicken.
Not only is it a high-profile, fast-growing brand, but it delivers a tasty product that people love.
They’re gonna love it even more this week.
From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, Dave’s will give away a slider to “everyone,” according to a press release. Why? To celebrate rapper Drake’s birthday. He’s an investor in the franchise chain.
“Drake is hooking everyone up with a Dave’s Hot Chicken Slider on him at the company’s 230 locations,” a publicist explained in an email.
All you have to do is download the Dave’s app, scan it at the register to check in — and claim your mouthwatering prize.
The offer is valid in the store or at the drive-thru. It’s not good through online ordering or a third-party delivery service. One per customer.
A single slider normally costs $6.69. It’s basically a full sandwich. Purchase some fries or a tender, too, and you’re exiting fat and happy.
Dave’s made its Idaho debut in late 2022, opening at 3450 N. Eagle Road in Meridian. After a “banner year” there, it expanded in 2024 with a Nampa location at 16365 N. Marketplace Blvd.
Both stores have exceptionally high Google ratings. Meridian pulls in a 4.7 out of 5.0 stars from a whopping 1,175 reviews. “Dave’s has maybe the best chicken sandwich I have eaten in my life,” one reviewer raved.
Nampa is even higher — a nearly perfect 4.9 out of 5.0 stars from 633 reviews. The flavor of Dave’s “medium” chicken tenders at that store is “actually incredible,” a reviewer wrote.
I agree that’s the spice level to order. After torturing our tongues a time or two with delicious but aggressive “hot,” “medium” is now my family’s go-to choice. (Avoid “Reaper” unless you’re a masochist.)
Either way, Dave’s sounds like a wallet-friendly plan — on Drake’s birthday. The free slider giveaway is an annual promotion.
“It was a huge hit last year,” Idaho franchisee Doug Davis said.
