Closed after rent hike downtown, Boise restaurant to open new location. ‘Go Broncos!’

Meraki Greek Street Food is going back to school.

The local restaurant, which closed recently after a conflict involving a rent increase, plans to reincarnate itself at Boise State University.

Meraki will open a new location in the Interactive Learning Center on campus.

“Beginning this upcoming fall semester, we will be serving Meraki favorites to all the wonderful students and staff!” the restaurant posted on Facebook. “We have always supported Boise State (have you tried our Bronco gyro?), so we are thrilled to now be able to do so in the heart of it all. Go Broncos!”

Last month, Meraki also shared that it soon will begin offering its food through Crave Delivery.

Before shuttering at 345 S. 8th St. in late spring, Meraki had been a downtown Boise mainstay for nearly six years.
