This restaurant closure was a ‘travesty.’ Soon Boiseans can get their ‘fix’ again

When Meraki Greek Street Food revealed unhappily in May that it was closing over a lease conflict, customers were stunned.

“So sad to hear,” one wrote on Facebook. “This is a travesty,” declared another.

The restaurant had been a downtown Boise mainstay for nearly six years. Locally owned, too.

But, soon, Meraki junkies will be able to gorge on french fry-stuffed gyros again.

The owners haven’t found a new brick-and-mortar home. (At least not one that they’ve shared publicly.) Nor will they miraculously return to 345 S. 8th St. (The former Meraki spot will become a Clucks Nashville Hot Chicken.)

Instead, Meraki recently joined Crave Delivery. Meaning that its food will be available quickly to doorsteps in much of the Treasure Valley. “We are hoping for first or second week of August,” Meraki wrote on Facebook.

Fans immediately celebrated.

“That is awesome!” one commenter wrote. “Wherever and however, I’ll just be happy to be able to get my Meraki’s fix again!”

A fast-casual lunch and dinner destination, Meraki Greet Street Food was popular for its authentic gyros, stuffed with marinated meat, tomato, onion, fries and tzatziki sauce.

Customers will order the same flavorful cuisine using the Crave app. Although delivery is the norm, takeout also is an option. The Crave ghost-kitchen facility is located at 2900 W. Excursion Blvd. in Meridian.

Oh, and if that’s not enough? Yet another reason to celebrate is on the horizon.
