The Boise Police and Fire departments responded Wednesday evening after a car veered off of Main Street just past Whitewater Park Boulevard, crashed onto the Boise Greenbelt near the Quinn’s Pond parking lot and nearly went into the river.

The Boise Police Department tweeted out photos of the scene and said its officers were assisting Boise Fire officials at the scene of the one-car accident.

BPD also tweeted that the initial investigation seemed to indicate that a medical episode led to the crash. The vehicle’s driver was transported to a local hospital.

The Greenbelt was closed temporarily because of the crash but has since reopened, BPD said. The Greenbelt was damaged, as were a parking lot fence, a sign and a railing; police said that Boise Parks and Recreation has been notified about the path.
