Idaho high school football rankings: A new power rises to No. 1 after upset
Timberline’s upset of previous unanimous No. 1 Rocky Mountain didn’t just punch the Wolves’ ticket to the 6A SIC championship game. It shook up the 6A classification in the latest Idaho high school football media poll released Tuesday.
Undefeated Eagle (8-0) rose to the top spot for the first time this season after its rival’s loss. Coincidentally, the Mustangs also host No. 3 Timberline (7-1) for the conference championship Friday.
Rigby also moved up a spot to No. 2 in the 6A rankings, and Rocky Mountain fell to No. 4 in the second-to-last rankings of the season.
Other newcomers in the state media poll include Kimberly (4A), Bonners Ferry (4A) and West Jefferson (3A).
