FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jeff Thompson, Rocky Mountain: Racked up 165 total yards and three touchdowns on 15 offensive touches in a 35-7 win over Kuna in the 6A state quarterfinals.

Noah Burnham, Eagle: Ran for 175 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Mustangs to a 22-16, come-from-behind win over Madison in the 6A state quarterfinals.

Drew Holman, Middleton: Posted 16 tackles, one tackle-for-loss and half a sack on defense in a 35-21 loss to Coeur d’Alene in the 6A state quarterfinals. The two-way star also went 19-for-29 for 176 yards and a touchdown, and ran for 43 yards and another score.

Isaac Moore, Vallivue: Ran for 159 yards and a touchdown, and completed 11-of-18 passes for 170 yards and two TDs in a 28-21 loss to Lakeland in the 5A state quarterfinals.

Ben Avella, Bishop Kelly: Went 26-for-44 for 261 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-35 loss to Minico in triple overtime in the 5A state quarterfinals.

Luke Henry, Homedale: Turned 11 offensive touches into 127 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-9 win over Buhl in the 4A state quarterfinals.

Kash Cobb, Weiser: Ran for 142 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries in a 47-0 win over American Falls in the 4A state quarterfinals.

Jace Waggoner, Tri-Valley: Ran for 241 yards and two touchdowns in a 42-6 win against Rockland in the 1A state quarterfinals. He also forced and recovered two fumbles, and made two interceptions, including one he returned 97 yards for a touchdown.

Kegan Welsh, Garden Valley: Made 11 tackles and forced a fumble in a 22-20 victory at Council in the 1A state quarterfinals.
