Dallas Hagler threw a TD pass to Tyler Robinett in overtime Friday night — one of only two catches Robinett had — to give Middleton a 41-35 win over Vallivue and secure a first-round home playoff game.

The Vikings (7-1, 6-1 4A SIC) tied the game with 51 seconds left in regulation on a TD strike from Hagler to Logan Wahl, one of Hagler’s four TD passes on the night. He was 18-of-24 for 240 yards with two interceptions.

That capped a wild fourth quarter in which both teams scored a pair of touchdowns. The game featured three ties and saw Middleton dart out to a 21-0 lead, only to have Vallivue (5-3, 4-3) respond with 21 straight points to forge the first tie on an 11-yard TD pass from Lan Larison to Jayden Moran in the third quarter.

Larison was 17-for-35 for 239 yards and three touchdowns, including a 48-yard strike to Moran to give Vallivue a 35-28 lead with 4:13 remaining in the game. Larison also rushed for 220 yards on 30 carries, his 32-yard TD run putting the Falcons up 28-21, their first lead of the night, early in the fourth quarter.

Moran finished with 143 yards on 13 catches.

Jake Tuckett rushed for 144 yards on 24 carries for Middleton, scoring two touchdowns to help the Vikings race to a 21-0 lead early in the second quarter. Carson Smith had three catches for 81 yards, and his 59-yard score tied the score at 28.

Middleton hosts Columbia next week and can clinch the 4A SIC league title with a win. Vallivue hosts Nampa in the finale and would end a seven-year playoff drought with a win.

Centennial 37, Borah 35

Quarterback Dayne Koch, who threw for 221 yards and three touchdowns, did the most damage with his feet, kicking a 28-yard field goal with 15 seconds left to give the Patriots (3-5, 3-5 5A SIC) a win over the playoff-bound Lions (5-3, 5-3) for the first time since 2013.

Borah’s Ellis Magnuson ran for a 26-yard touchdown to give the Lions a 35-34 lead with 4:53 left. But Koch, who also rushed for 71 yards and a TD, engineered the game-winning drive that provided a huge boost to the Patriots’ playoff chances.

Magnuson ran for 133 yards and three TDs while filling in at quarterback for Borah, which has lost back-to-back games without three-year starter Jake Standlee.

Mountain View 45, Meridian 34

Noah Bryant connected on three long TD passes with Blake Jablonski — 62 yards in the first quarter, 62 again in the third and 65 in the fourth — to lead the Mavericks (6-2, 6-2) past the Warriors (3-5, 3-5) in a 5A SIC shootout.

With Capital and Borah both losing, Mountain View now sits alone in second place behind unbeaten Rocky Mountain with one week left in the regular season. A victory next week against winless Timberline would clinch the Mavericks the league’s second seed and a first-round playoff bye.

Bryant, who was 14-for-17 passing, threw for 342 yards. Jaymon Barrus had 15 carries for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Mavericks, who carried a 38-20 lead into the fourth quarter.

Meridian’s Chase Black rushed 28 times for 200 yards and a touchdown, and QB Braden Honn played a part in the four other scores, rushing for 57 yards and two TDs, and throwing for 177 yards and two TDs.

Boise 34, Timberline 29

Andrew Bergey scored on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter, and Boise held on in a back-and-forth game to snap a 16-game losing streak.

Carson Bohning completed 26-of-33 passes for 284 yards and four touchdowns. Cole Alton led Boise’s receivers with 10 catches for 137 yards, including a pair of TDs.

The Braves (1-7, 1-7 5A SIC) last won a game on Oct. 21, 2016, against Nampa.

Andy Peters threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns on 16-of-24 passing for Timberline (0-8, 0-8).

Columbia 52, Ridgevue 21

Allamar Alexander rushed for 319 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries to power the Wildcats (4-4, 4-3 4A SIC) past the Warhawks (2-6, 2-5) and improve Columbia’s playoff chances.

Alexander’s second and third TDs staked the Wildcats to a 28-7 lead in the second quarter and they coasted from there. QB Kekana Fouret was 12-of-14 passing for 150 yards and two TDs, part of Columbia’s 516 total yards.

The loss eliminated Ridgevue from the playoffs.

Kuna 59, Caldwell 24

The Kavemen (4-4, 3-4 4A SIC) darted out to a 22-0 lead in the game’s first 7 minutes and racked up 512 yards of offense in a must-win game for their playoff chances.

QB Matthew Austin threw for 136 yards and three touchdowns, and he also rushed for 73 yards and two TDs to spearhead Kuna’s offense. Brian McDaniel added 112 yards rushing.

Andres Begne threw for 216 yards and three scores — strikes of 31, 65 and 28 yards to Ryder Hernandez — for Caldwell (0-8, 0-8), which battled to within 22-10 before 30 unanswered points from Kuna put the game away. Hernandez had eight catches for 166 yards.

Nampa 49, Emmett 0

Nampa (7-1, 6-1 4A SIC) kept pace with Middleton and Bishop Kelly atop the 4A SIC standings and clinched a home playoff game.

Quarterback/receiver Donnie Estrada accounted for 209 yards of offense and three touchdowns. He completed 4-of-8 passes for 65 yards and two TDs; ran seven times for a team-high 95 yards and a score; and caught four passes for 49 yards.

No details were reported.

Fruitland 56, Parma 6

Quarterback Cole Eiguren had a hand in six of Fruitland’s eight touchdowns as the two-time defending state champion Grizzlies (5-3, 3-1 3A SRV) clinched a playoff berth.

Eiguren completed 14-of-18 passes for 232 yards and three TDs, adding 108 yards and three more trips to the end zone on eight carries.

New Plymouth 22, Cole Valley Christian 10

Quarterback Kobe Roberts threw for one touchdown and rushed for another to guarantee New Plymouth the 2A WIC title.

Seth Mowder racked up 136 rushing yards and one touchdown on 28 carries for the Pilgrims (5-2, 4-0), who led 22-0 at halftime.

McCall 20, Melba 19

McCall-Donnelly (5-2, 3-1) clinched a playoff berth with a tight 2A WIC win over Melba (3-4, 2-2). No other details were reported.

Nampa Christian 41, Marsing 16

Nampa Christian (2-5, 1-3 2A WIC) picked up its first league win. No details were reported.

Wilder 28, Idaho City 20

Wilder avenged its only loss of the season and handed Idaho City (5-1, 3-1 1A DI WIC) its first loss.

Wilder’s Ismael Cortez tied the game at 20-20 on a 1-yard run with 5:04 left in the fourth quarter, and his two-point conversion run put his Wildcats (6-1, 3-1) ahead for good. Pablo Martinez then added a 10-yard TD pass to Norman Gonzalez to ice the win.
