PLAYER OF THE YEAR: CONNOR PERKINS, DIETRICH
The pick: The 5-9 senior guard guided the Blue Devils to a state championship, averaging 19.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.1 steals and 2.8 assists per game. Perkins also shot 44-for-113 (39%) from 3-point range.
Coach’s comment: “Connor can do it all. From his ability to play top-notch defense and continually frustrate the opposing team with his capability to always having a hand in the right place at the right time,” Dietrich coach Slade Dill said.
What others are saying: “Great overall player,” Watersprings coach Evan Bindenagel said. “He is an amazing defender and has a motor that keeps him going the whole game.”
What’s next: Perkins has signed with North Dakota State College of Science.
WOODROW LOWDER, ROCKLAND
A four-sport standout, the 6-0 junior guard racked up 17.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.1 steals per game for the third-place Bulldogs. Lowder also knocked down 64 3-pointers on the season and shot 42% from the floor overall.
JACEN FARR, CHALLIS
The Vikings finished as the state runner-up behind their 6-0 senior forward, who contributed 18.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.0 blocks per game. Farr wrapped up his prep career with more than 1,000 points.
PRESTON WOOD, CAREY
Despite missing four games this season with an injury, the 6-2 senior point guard still averaged a double-double of 16.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game. Wood also added 4.5 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 44% from the floor.
KAIZER SUMMERS, MACKAY
The 6-2 senior forward moves up from the All-Idaho second team last year, producing 20.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.9 blocks per game. Summers knocked down 51% of his shots (170-for-335) overall.
COACH OF THE YEAR: SLADE DILL, DIETRICH
Led the top-seeded Blue Devils to a 22-3 overall record and the third state championship in program history.
