BOYS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Luke Soltau, Boise: Averaged 14.5 points and five assists in wins over Timberline and Borah to send the ninth-seeded Brave to the 6A SIC district championship and clinch a state tournament berth.

Jackson Rogers, Owyhee: Averaged 14 points, three rebounds and 2.5 assists in wins over Ridgevue and Meridian to clinch a state tournament berth and a spot in the 6A SIC district championship.

Cordell Sparks, Borah: Posted 22 points and eight rebounds while shooting 9-of-16 from the field as the 11th-seeded Lions upset third-seeded Timberline 72-67 in overtime in the first round of the 6A SIC district tournament.

Blake Hansen, Columbia: Racked up 25 points, 10 rebounds and two steals in a 69-62 win over Vallivue in the first round of the 5A SIC district tournament.

Tristen Trevino, Ambrose: Scored 22 points and added five assists and three steals in a 57-32 win over Parma in the 3A WIC district semifinals to punch the Archers’ ticket to state.

Cohen Evans, New Plymouth: Dominated the paint with 15 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks in a 44-33 win over Nampa Christian in the 3A WIC district semifinals, clinching the Pilgrims a spot at state.

Gabriel Gomez, Victory Charter: Stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in a 53-41 win over Compass Charter that sent the Vipers to the state tournament and the 2A WIC district championship game.

Kyle Wheeler, North Star Charter: Hit 7-of-9 3-pointers to score 29 points in a 76-33 win over Gem State in the play-in round at the 2A WIC tournament.
