17 Treasure Valley girls basketball teams will vie for state titles

Borah, Caldwell, Emmett and Salmon River won state tournament play-in games Saturday to advance into their classifications’ final eight-team brackets, which will commence play at 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

Borah’s reward for beating Post Falls at Grangeville High is a matchup with reigning 5A champion Mountain View in the tournament opener.

District Three teams: Boise, Borah, Centennial, Eagle, Mountain View (5A); Bishop Kelly, Caldwell, Kuna (4A); Emmett, Homedale, Weiser (3A); Cole Valley Christian, New Plymouth (2A); Liberty Charter, Notus (1A Division I); Council, Salmon River (1A Division II)

Tournament sites: Ford Idaho Center, Nampa (5A); Timberline High, Boise (4A); Middleton High (3A); Kuna High (2A); Columbia High, Nampa (1A Division I); Nampa High (1A Division II)
