GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Payton Garcia, Caldwell: Totaled 36 rebounds, 23 points, eight blocks and six steals in three games last week, including 10 rebounds, nine points, four steals and five blocks in a 41-37 win over Vallivue in a loser-out game of the 5A District Three Tournament.
Ava Eppich, Council: Playing three of their last four games on the road and totaling 14 hours on the bus, Eppich racked up 57 rebounds and 53 points as the Lumberjacks remained alive in the 2A District Three Tournament.
Miriam Stafford, Capital: In three games at the 6A District Three Tournament, including two elimination game victories, the Eagles’ junior guard averaged 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.7 blocks per game.
Zoey Blackwell, Middleton: The Vikings rolled into the 5A District Three Tournament championship game with their 18th straight win. Blackwell contributed a triple-double of 26 points, 10 assists, 10 steals and six rebounds as Middleton topped Columbia 85-31 in the district semifinals.
Berkley Jones, Eagle: The Mustangs upset No. 1 Owyhee in the 6A District Three Tournament semifinals 50-46 as their sophomore guard accounted for 22 points, four rebounds and two assists while going 5-for-8 from 3-point range.
Tariah Carter, Melba: The Mustangs advanced to the 3A District Three Tournament championship with a 64-40 win over New Plymouth as Carter had a well-rounded outing of 20 points, eight rebounds, seven steals and three assists.
Lola Warren, Tri-Valley: The Titans secured a spot in the 1A District Three Tournament championship game by beating Garden Valley 69-28, including a game-best 27 points from Warren.
Avery Patricco, Boise: The Brave advanced to the 6A District Three Tournament championship for the fifth year in a row with a 49-44 win over Borah. Patricco totaled a team-leading 15 points with two rebounds and one steal.
Brooke Hutchinson, Bishop Kelly: The Knights knocked off Emmett 58-29 in the 5A District Three Tournament semifinals as their senior guard notched a team-leading 15 points with three assists.
Fanci Sackett, Timberline: The Wolves remained alive in the 6A District Three Tournament as their sophomore forward averaged 11.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
