GIRLS BASKETBALL
Avery Howell, Boise: Led the Brave to a state tournament berth with two double-doubles last week. She had 24 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks in a win vs. Middleton. She added 19 points, 14 rebounds and five steals in a district semifinal win against Timberline.
Demi Thompson-Lopez, Mountain View: Sank a half-court buzzer-beater to keep the Mavericks’ season alive with a 29-27 win vs. Kuna. She averaged 22.3 points and 5.7 rebounds in three games.
Ava Eppich, Council: Racked up 18 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block while shooting 44% from the floor in a 67-40 win over Salmon River in the district tournament semifinals.
Kyler Nitzel, Cascade: Finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and two steals in a district tournament elimination game. She also scored 24 points earlier in the week.
Kimberly Zink, Victory Charter: Recorded two double-doubles last week. She had 22 points and 18 rebounds in an elimination victory vs. Idaho City. She also had 16 points and 10 rebounds in a first-round district tournament loss.
Sidney Jackson, Parma: Racked up 23 points, four rebounds and three steals in a 54-26 win vs. McCall-Donnelly that clinched the Panthers a state tournament berth.
Brielle Magnuson, Rocky Mountain: Scored 22 points on 9-for-11 shooting and added eight rebounds in a 62-46 victory against Owyhee that sent the Grizzlies to the 5A District Three Tournament championship game for the first time in program history.
Shae Olsen, Greenleaf: Poured in 28 points, six steals and five assists in a 58-31 win vs. Victory Charter in the first round of the 1A Division I District Three Tournament.
Brooklynn Dayley, Melba: Had 18 points, eight steals and three assists in a 67-26 rout of Nampa Christian to clinch a state tournament berth.
