PLAYER OF THE YEAR: SOPHIE GLANCEY, TIMBERLINE

Why she is player of the year: Opponents never found a solution for the 6-2 senior center, who led the Wolves to their first state title since 2003. She dominated the paint with her size, strength and footwork, racking up 16.2 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game. She shot 62% from the floor.

Coach’s comment: “Sophie was all but unguardable one on one and scored all season against double-teams. Whenever we needed a basket, we went to Sophie,” Timberline coach Andy Jones said.

What others are saying: “Sophie is an unstoppable force most nights. You can double-team her, front her, play behind, double down — it doesn’t matter,” Eagle coach Jeremy Munroe.

What’s next: Glancey has signed to play at Northern Arizona.

SKYLAR BURKE, COEUR D’ALENE

The Santara Barbara signee set a program record at 18.3 points per game. But the 5-7 senior guard was no one-trick pony. She could take opponents off the dribble, was a threat from the 3-point line and did it all while averaging 8.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

ASPEN CALDWELL, THUNDER RIDGE

The 5-7 guard burst onto the scene last year, earning second-team All-Idaho honors. The junior moved up to the first team this season after pouring in 17.1 points per game and adding 4.2 rebounds. She rarely left the floor for the state consolation champ.

AVERY HOWELL, BOISE

The 5-11 sophomore made her presence felt all over the floor, racking up 10.2 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 2.2 assists per game for the state runner-up. She already holds scholarship offers from Boise State, Montana and Montana State.

ANNIE STINAR, CENTENNIAL

The Wyoming signee rewrote the record books at a program with plenty of history. The 5-8 senior point guard set records for points (468) and assists (104) in a season while leading the 5A SIC in both scoring (19.5) and assists (4.3).

COACH OF THE YEAR: ANDY JONES, TIMBERLINE

He won his seventh state title with his third school, leaving him two shy of Idaho legend Emery Roy.
